FIRE AND POLICE CHIEFS URGE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

About Suisun City Fire Department

The Suisun City Fire Department is virtually an all-volunteer Department, consisting of approximately 43 members. The Department provides 24/7 fire protection and emergency services, including fire suppression, medical response, and natural and human-caused disasters.

Suisun City Fire also responds to public assistance calls, provides public education programs for schools within the City, and manages the nuisance weed abatement program.

Staffing

Suisun City Fire has a paid Fire Chief and two paid Captains. The remainder of the Department's members are volunteer, including one Deputy Chief, three Battalion Chiefs, nine Captains, four Engineers, three Driver/Operators, 15 Firefighters and six Recruits.

Equipment

The Fire Department's equipment includes three engines, two ladder trucks, one quick attack, three command vehicles, two grass units, and a utility vehicle. All of the equipment is housed at one station centrally located at 621 Pintail Drive.

Suisun City Fire responds to approximately 1,850 calls per year. The volunteers dedicated about 72,000 hours of service to the community.

If you are at least 18 years old, are in good physical shape and interested in serving your community through the fire service, we encourage you to call about our Volunteer Recruitment that starts in May. Service in the Suisun City Fire Department is very rewarding and an excellent way to begin your career in the fire service.
