Suisun City has a very active business community grounded in the single proprietor, entreprenurial business environment that has been the city's hallmark since its founding.

The business community has coalesced around two groups to support the growth and development of businesses within Suisun City and greater Solano County. Both the Suisun City Business Group and the Suisun City Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District maintain vibrant websites, and host regular public meetings and events.

The Suisun Business Group is a volunteer organization affiliated with the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce with membership from across the entire local business community. The group's goal is to create a better quality of life for all Suisun City residents through a variety or programs and events.

Membership is open and free to all licensed businesses within Suisun City and to anyone with an interest in improving the community.

The Suisun City Historic Waterfront BID was created in 2003 by the City Council at the request of the downtown area merchants. Businesses located within the BID boundaries are assessed an annual fee, determined by ordinance, to support the annual activities of the district. The BID board of directors is elected by the membership and oversees the activities of the BID.

The goals of the BID is to improve the business climate in the waterfront district and promote the area as a terrific place to visit and conduct business.
