Suisun Marsh Access Guide
Suisun City shares its southern border with the Suisun Marsh, the largest contiguous estuarine marsh on the West Coast. This provides both unparalleled views from several City neighborhoods of protected open space and positions Suisun City as the only way the general public can access the Marsh during the winter months. Private duck clubs populate much of the Marsh area, which is managed by the Suisun Resource Conservation District.

While the 116,000-acre Suisun Marsh is teeming with life all year long, it is particularly impressive during the annual bird migration along the Pacific Flyway. Flocks of wild birds migrating from Canada to Central and South America often use Suisun Marsh as a waystation, offering bird watchers exciting opportunities to spot unique bird species. In January 2007, an Arctic Snowy Owl made a rare appearance this far south, thrilling bird lovers for nearly two months.

Here are some resources to help you enjoy Suisun Marsh while you visit Suisun City.
